Christmas Washi Notecards

Christmas Washi Notecard

I love giving out handmade cards, and at Christmas, we give out a LOT of cards… so the simpler the better! This year I took inspiration from a project I saw on Brandys Cards last year.

Armed with a pack of Notecards & Envelopes, and a few simple supplies I managed to whip up a set of these cards in no time at all…

It looks a lot… It’s not 😉

This is a great little assembly line project… here’s how I did mine;

Lay strips of Winter Wonderland Designer Washi Tape onto the front of the Notecards
Stamp Designs from Festival of Trees Stampset in Versamark onto Whisper White Cardstock, and heat emboss with Gold Embossing Powder.
Do the same for the sentiment (I used the ‘A Merry Little Wish…’ from the same set)
Punch out the embossed images using the co-ordinating Tree Punch and Washi Label Punch

Adhere the punched shapes to the card fronts using Dimensionals
(TIP: Use the strips from the edge of the dimensionals for the sentiments)

JOB DONE!

If you want to go one step further you could stamp the inside of the cards, with the other half of the sentiment, but I left mine blank so we have plenty of room to write a little message in each card 🙂

I made 10 of these in just a few minutes, and I know I’ll be making more… I also have a few other coordinating projects lined up, so keep your eye out!

Simply Sketched – Saturday Challenge Blog Hop!

HeaderThank you for joining us on the first Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re a small group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators who fancied a new challenge to share with you all.  The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues.  Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

Wow!! I’m taking part in my FIRST EVER Blog Hop, woop!!  I’ve read a few, but never took part, so here goes…
We’re being well behaved and taking it in turns to design a sketch each, then we’re all squirreling away to our craft desks to come up with some AWESOME projects to share with you on alternate Saturdays! (The clue was in the title wasn’t it? D’oh!)

The gorgeous Sam from Sam’s Crafty Things has set up this weeks sketch to get us started… So here goes!
Challenge One Sketch

My first reaction was “NNNooooo!!!! I don’t own ANYTHING with circles!” quickly followed by “How is that even possible?!”  Then I calmed down a bit and came up with this…

Ta da! I ‘created’ a circle, sort of… yay!

Well, this is a super easy little project using the new Square Pillow Box die… and because there’s a birthday coming up in the family I decided to make this as a little treat for the birthday girl!

It was quite an easy make, so here’s how;
Die cut the box from Soft Sky cardstock, and assemble it with Fast Fuse.
Build the flower embellishment using the Pansy Punch in Melon Mambo, and Silver Glimmer paper; Petite Petals  in Melon Mambo; and a flower from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack in Silver Glimmer paper… Attach together alternating the colours, and top it off with a Melon Mambo Candy Dot 🙂
Stamp ‘Happy’ and ‘Birthday’ from Crazy About You in Melon Mambo onto Whisper White, and punch out with the Washi Label Punch.
Attach all of the embellishments onto the front of the pillow box with Glue Dots and finish off with Melon Mambo, Soft Sky Candy Dots and a Rhinestone!
Fill with chocolate, and it’s done! (I did say it was a birthday treat 😉 )

Well, Hope you like 🙂
Enjoy the rest of the Hop, and I will see you soon!
