Baby Girl Card with Butterflies

IMG_0796

This cute little baby girl card moves away from the typical pinks and ‘baby’ images.

The card base is a sheet of A4 Whisper White Cardstock cut in half, and folded in half again, which gives an A6 card.

This is topped with a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock from the 2013-2015 In Colour Collection cut 10mm smaller in both length and width (95 x 138 mm).

I then cut a square of Lullaby Designer Series Paper measuring 85 x 85mm to create the third layer.  Each layer had the corners rounded using the PL Corner Rounder punch, and were layered using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

4 Bitty Butterfly shapes were punched after being stamped using the Papillon Potpourri stamp set in Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Stazon White.  These were then teamed with 2 Elegant Butterfly punch outs on coordinating cardstock.  These are layered up on mini Glue Dots.

Pair this with a Whisper White C6 Envelope, decorated to match, and we are good to go 🙂

Simple Butterfly card…

Most of my projects tend to be quite simple… and this is quite possibly the simplest I’ve ever done!

How easy is this? This easy…

1 – Cut sheet of Whisper White cardstock in half (A4 to A5) and fold that in half (to A6)

2 – Cut Bermuda Bay cardstock to 95 x 138mm (1cm smaller than card blank)

3 – Cut 2nd layer of Whisper White cardstock at 85 x 128mm (again 1 cm less in height and width of previous layer)

4 – Round all corners using the Corner Punch

5 – Layer up card using Stampin’ Dimensionals

6 – Punch 2 Elegant Butterfly shapes from Confetti Celebration Designer Series Paper (I used the one with tiny multicoloured dots).IMG_0073

7 – Punch 5 Bitty Butterfly shapes from the same DSP

8 – Ink edges of butterfly shapes using Bermuda Bay and Strawberry Slush ink

9 – Lift Butterfly wings by bending around a Bone Folder. Adhere to card front using Mini Glue Dots

10 – Scatter 3 each of Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo Candy Dots.

Card = Done!

It probably took longer to read/write this entire post than it does to make this card. But I love it nonetheless!
