Label Love birthday card with Gorgeous Grunge

IMG_0071edit

I love simple cards, and this is quite possibly one the simplest I have ever made.

First, trim A4 Whisper White card stock in half, and fold in half to create a card base (Measurements are 14.8cm, by 10.5cm)

Cut Bermuda Bay cardstock to 14.3 x 10 cm, then a third layer of Whiper white at 13.8 x 9.5 cm

Round all corners with the Project Life Corner Punch.

Stamp the smallest layer (Whisper White) with Gorgeous Grunge in Smoky Slate, and Tangerine Tango (I stamped each colour 2 or 3 times)

Stamp the Happy Birthday stamp from the Label Love collectioin onto spare Whisper White cardstock in Bermuda Bay and punch out using the Artisan Label punch.

Build the cards centring each layer on top of the other, using Stampin’ Dimensionals, then add the Happy Birthday label on top dimensionals slightly off centre.

Card is done!

I also made the same card using the same base (Whisper White and Bermuda Bay) but supplemented the other colours with Island Indigo.  Here are the 2 side by side…

Joyful Christmas Cards

I can’t believe we’re already in December! And WOW what a busy month I have ahead of me, as I’m sure we all do 🙂

I’ve been back in my crafting ‘spot’; sat on the living room floor in front of the fire! Nothing like getting toasty (even if a little uncomfortable!) and I came up with these little beauties…

Real Red, Cherry Cobbler & Early Espresso

I love colour, so I had to do a few different colour ways… decided to stick to 3 for this little project based on the amount of other stuff I was doing too 🙂

Surprisingly easy to put together… the fiddliest part was lining up the wreaths on the Big Shot, quickly got the hang of it though thanks to the little tabs.

Colours: Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise & Tangerine Tango

If you want to make your own, here are the layers I used for mine 🙂

I cut A4 Whisper White cardstock in half, and folded in half again to creat the card blank.

Cut Silver Glimmer Paper to 3/4 x 41/2 inch strips, and cut those to points for the first layer, adhered with Mini Glue Dots

Coloured cardstock was 4 x 2 inches, cut to a ‘flag’ shape, and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals

The Wonderous Wreath Photopolymer stampset and Framelits Bundle was then used to create the lovely little wreaths on Whisper White cardstock, and cut using my Big Shot.  The wreaths were adhered with Stampin Dimensionals.

The sentiment I borrowed from the Holiday Home Stampset, and layered on top using Mini Glue Dots.

Then ‘Joy’ was cut from Silver Foil Paper from the Wondrous Wreath framelit set, and adhered with some mini Glue Dots.

The colour combinations I used are;

Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, and Early Espresso

Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise, and Tangerine Tango

Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, and Rich Razzleberry

Colours: Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive & Rich Razzleberry

I hope you like!

New Beginnings… Happy New Home!

Recently I moved house, and I wanted to give friends my new address… But I wanted something a little bit more special than a text message. I wanted to get creative; so I chose to make these little note cards…

Luckily for me, the new Autumn/Winter 2014 catalogue launched just in time, and contained a lovely little stamp set called Holiday Home, with coordinating framelits, available as a bundle here with a saving of 15%!

Holiday Home Bundle 137631G

This may well be a holiday set, but, as with all things Stampin’ Up! it’s versatile, and I think it’s just perfect for this!

If you would like to make your own cards, here is how I made mine…

1 – Stamp taller houses in Smoky Slate onto Whisper White cardstock.  2 houses per card.

2 – Stamp small house in chosen ink colours (I used the brights collection). 1 house per card.

3 -Using your Big Shot cut all houses out with co-ordinating Framelits die. I roughly trimmed my sheet down, and held the die in place using washi tape. (The Magnetic Platform is on my wish list!)

4 – Adhere 2 taller houses towards the bottom of card base using Mini Glue Dots.

5 – Place a smaller house over the two taller ones,  adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to add height.

6 – Stamp “Happy New Home” sentiment at the top of the card in matching ink colour, with contrasting Candy Dots on either side.

That is your card done!

However, I wanted to add a little something to the envelopes too! So…

1 – Stamp smaller house stamp at an angle on the lower corner of envelope in coloured ink (I used the same as I had on the card).

2 – Mask off the coloured stamp using a spare cut out (I cut another house from scrap cardstock, and held it over the edge with a piece of washi tape)

3 – Using the taller house stamp, and Smoky Slate ink, stamp over the masked house, to create the impression of a layered effect similar to the cards.

All done! Now I have a coordinating set of New Home cards and envelopes 🙂
