HeaderThank you for joining us on the first Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! Wow!! I’m taking part in my FIRST EVER Blog Hop, woop!!  I’ve read a few, but never took part, so here goes…
We’re being well behaved and taking it in turns to design a sketch each, then we’re all squirreling away to our craft desks to come up with some AWESOME projects to share with you on alternate Saturdays! (The clue was in the title wasn’t it? D’oh!)

The gorgeous Sam from Sam’s Crafty Things has set up this weeks sketch to get us started… So here goes!
Challenge One Sketch

My first reaction was “NNNooooo!!!! I don’t own ANYTHING with circles!” quickly followed by “How is that even possible?!”  Then I calmed down a bit and came up with this…

Ta da! I ‘created’ a circle, sort of… yay!

Well, this is a super easy little project using the new Square Pillow Box die… and because there’s a birthday coming up in the family I decided to make this as a little treat for the birthday girl!

It was quite an easy make, so here’s how;
Die cut the box from Soft Sky cardstock, and assemble it with Fast Fuse.
Build the flower embellishment using the Pansy Punch in Melon Mambo, and Silver Glimmer paper; Petite Petals  in Melon Mambo; and a flower from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack in Silver Glimmer paper… Attach together alternating the colours, and top it off with a Melon Mambo Candy Dot 🙂
Stamp ‘Happy’ and ‘Birthday’ from Crazy About You in Melon Mambo onto Whisper White, and punch out with the Washi Label Punch.
Attach all of the embellishments onto the front of the pillow box with Glue Dots and finish off with Melon Mambo, Soft Sky Candy Dots and a Rhinestone!
Fill with chocolate, and it’s done! (I did say it was a birthday treat 😉 )

Well, Hope you like 🙂
Enjoy the rest of the Hop, and I will see you soon!

Joyful Christmas Cards

I can’t believe we’re already in December! And WOW what a busy month I have ahead of me, as I’m sure we all do 🙂

I’ve been back in my crafting ‘spot’; sat on the living room floor in front of the fire! Nothing like getting toasty (even if a little uncomfortable!) and I came up with these little beauties…

Real Red, Cherry Cobbler & Early Espresso

I love colour, so I had to do a few different colour ways… decided to stick to 3 for this little project based on the amount of other stuff I was doing too 🙂

Surprisingly easy to put together… the fiddliest part was lining up the wreaths on the Big Shot, quickly got the hang of it though thanks to the little tabs.

Colours: Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise & Tangerine Tango

If you want to make your own, here are the layers I used for mine 🙂

I cut A4 Whisper White cardstock in half, and folded in half again to creat the card blank.

Cut Silver Glimmer Paper to 3/4 x 41/2 inch strips, and cut those to points for the first layer, adhered with Mini Glue Dots

Coloured cardstock was 4 x 2 inches, cut to a ‘flag’ shape, and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals

The Wonderous Wreath Photopolymer stampset and Framelits Bundle was then used to create the lovely little wreaths on Whisper White cardstock, and cut using my Big Shot.  The wreaths were adhered with Stampin Dimensionals.

The sentiment I borrowed from the Holiday Home Stampset, and layered on top using Mini Glue Dots.

Then ‘Joy’ was cut from Silver Foil Paper from the Wondrous Wreath framelit set, and adhered with some mini Glue Dots.

The colour combinations I used are;

Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, and Early Espresso

Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise, and Tangerine Tango

Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, and Rich Razzleberry

Colours: Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive & Rich Razzleberry
