Bohemian Work of Art card & Matching Gift Card Holder

P1010150eBig, bold & colourful… Both the Bohemian DSP, and the card!

I sometimes struggle using DSP in projects, so I challenged myself to do.  I have tons of it, because I love looking at it, but I’m starting to hoard it… I need to change that.  I bought the Bohemian DSP as soon as I could, and then tore it open and instantly fell in love with this pattern from the series, so I decided to make it the focus of this card, and I think it turned out pretty well.

This isn’t quite a 6×6 inch card, as I’ve used the Blackberry Bliss from the A4 Bohemian Cardstock Pack, so it’s 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches.  The DSP is 1/4 inch smaller, and adhered straight down with Snail.  The sentiment, from Work of Art, is in Bermuda Bay on 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch Very Vanilla, layered onto 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 Blackberry Bliss (Snail again), and popped up on Dimensionals.

I’ve put a layer of Very Vanilla measuring 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches on the inside too.  It’s a great size and has plenty of room to write a mini essay… draw a picture… whatever you fancy!

I couldn’t leave it at just a card… the scraps on my desk were looking all sad, so I whipped up a quick Gift Card Holder from them!
I grabbed the biggest leftover piece of cardstock which measured 2 3/4 x 9 inches. I scored it at 2 1/2 and 6 1/2 inches. Added a piece measuring 3/4 x 4 inches to the very bottom on the inside gluing only 3 sides to hold the gift card.
Tip: lay the smaller piece inside the card along with anything credit card sized to make sure you don’t put too much glue on, then flip it over and stick it down with the card inside just to make sure there’s wiggle room!
Decorate with a 3 3/4 x 2 1/4 inch Very Vanilla carstock and some 3/4 inch wide strips of DSP.  The closure is a small square of Blackberry Bliss glued to the front.
